Parish Interns
at All Saints, Lincoln
supporting discernment | growing community | forming leaders
The parish intern programme offers prospective ordinands the opportunity to spend a year discerning their calling to the priesthood, whilst supporting our vision and mission for the Monks Road area of Lincoln.
In-community
Being rooted in the rhythm of prayer, worship, service and recreation is imperative in a society where our lives are so frantic.
Living in-community offers the opportunity to build and develop that pattern, and is an important element of formation.
Catholic parochial ministry
All Saints, Lincoln is a parish of the Society under the sacramental care of the Bishop of Richborough, and is served by priests of the Society of the Holy Cross.
As one of the most deprived parishes in England, our ministry is varied and deeply relational, offering the opportunity to experience Catholic parochial ministry in all of its dimensions. We are continuing to grow our outreach work as well as connect and support new communities, especially students.
Support
Our aim is to support potential ordinands in their journey of discernment, and to allow them space to listen to Gods calling on their lives.
Interns will have a supportive church community around them, and will be given the opportunities they need to grow in confidence of their vocation and Christian identity.
Lincoln
With a cityscape dominated by one of Englands finest cathedrals, Lincoln is a city of two-halves: the historic uphill of cathedral, castle and bailgate, and the cosmopolitan downhill of shops and cafe culture.
It's a wonderful city to live and you're never far from beautiful countryside and the Lincolnshire coastline. With direct rail services to London (2hrs) and Sheffield/Nottingham, it is a small but well connected city.
Apply
Applications can be made online using our form. You'll need to tell us about yourself, your education, skills and where you are in the discernment process. You do not need to have begun this on arrival, but you need to be willing to meet with the DDO for the Diocese of Lincoln. All offerings of an internship are subject to an Enhanced DBS certification and completion of the required Safeguarding training.
